American electronic music producer and DJ Marshmello, believed to be Chris Comstock but keeps his identity hidden behind his signature helmet, was on an Indian musical tour with his shows lined up in Delhi, Pune and Hyderabad.

Ahead of his show on Sunday night, the Alone and Silence hit music-maker paid respect to those martyred in the Pulwama terror attack, before making his fans dance to his popular foot-tapping tracks in Pune.

DJ Marshmello, who came down to India to collaborate with Pritam Chakraborty for a music video, said before beginning his show, “Two minutes silence for the Indian soldiers who lost their lives in a terrorist attack” as the Indian flag was projected in the background.

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan too attended the event. While the Vh1 Supersonic 2019 music festival also had artists like Jaden Smith (Hollywood actor Will Smith’s son), Bonobo, Anik Khan, Prateek Kuhad, Rudimental and Two Door Cinema Club, the fans reported to IANS that it was only Marshmello who remembered the jawans.

DJ Marshmello even took to Twitter to send out his prayers to “those affected by the Pulwama attack” on Friday, a day after the horror unfolded in Kashmir.

After waving the Indian flag, and paying tribute to the martyrs along with the crowd of fans, Marshmello got them grooving to Aankh Marey from Ranveer Singh-starrer Simmba and shook a leg with Kartik on the song Coca Cola from the latter’s upcoming movie Luka Chuppi.

Marshmello recently released his music video BIBA, co-composed by Pritam, on February 14, 2019, and recreated scenes of the songs from Shah Rukh Khan’s movies in the video, though in a comical way.

The real show-stealer however, was SRK’s cameo in the video. The video featured Pritam and singer Shirley Setia and while it marked an epic tribute to King Khan, his unexpected appearance in it won all hearts and set fans gushing.

At the festival on Sunday, Marshmello even showed some of the dance moves from BIBA and later got the crowd grooving in sync with the beats of his tracks like Friends, Everyday, Silence and Wolves while adding his twist to songs like We like to party! (The Vengabus) by Vengaboys and Livin’ on a prayer by Bon Jovi which won the hearts of the fans present.

With the Pune show, Marshmello brought down the curtains on the two-day music festival and thanked the audience saying, “Thank you guys so much for making it so special. I’ll see you next time.”

Earlier, DJ Marshmello had told Indian Express,

“India is so special to me. This is my third time here and I love it even more each time I come back. That’s why I wanted to make this trip even more special and give my fans here their own anthem. It was great to work with Pritam over the last few months and give the Mellogang Biba.”
